Listing Details
‘ECO offers children and young people aged 7-18 the chance to play a wide variety of music in a fun, friendly and safe environment. New members are always welcome and there are no scary auditions ... The Exeter Youth Orchestra (EYO) is a subset of the main Exeter Children’s Orchestra (ECO) . Formally known as the Chamber Orchestra it comprises the older and more experienced members of the orchestra in a more balanced form than the all-inclusive ECO ... Exeter Junior Orchestra (EJO) is part of the ECO group and is available to those children who are starting to learn a standard orchestral instrument. Children will need to be able to read music. Not only does it give new starters the opportunity to play as part of a group but teaches them how to follow a conductor, listen to others, counting skills - disciplines they may not put into practice in an individual music lesson. The aim of the group is to give the confidence to play and perform together and to then move up to ECO in the future. EJO are invited to join the full orchestra for one or two pieces in each concert.’
