‘Award-winning Youth Theatre Company ... established in 1971 as the 14-20 Music and Drama Society ... The company has a membership of 60 young people aged between 11 and 21 who all perform in every production the company produces, ranging from the much loved Gilbert and Sullivan Operattas, the family favourite Rodgers and Hammerstien musical comedies to the new writers such as Howard Goodall, giving this talented company a varied balance of the musicals available to them. A busy and thorough rehearsal period allows for each member to learn valuable theatre skills as well as build their own self-esteem, confidence, self-respect, team work, a huge sense of belonging which enhances all of their performances and their own inter-personal skills.‘

'EYT was set up to bridge the gap between school and adult drama, specifically aimed at young people between the ages of 15 and 25 ... Two major productions are usually presented each year ... normally a musical in the winter and either a musical or straight play in the summer. This gives everyone a chance to be involved, and to use whatever performance skills they have - whether it's acting, singing or dancing or all three!'

‘Formed in 1988 and currently has over 50 members aged between 12 and 19 from all around Oxfordshire. MYCO produces one main show per year, alternating between the Oxford Playhouse and one other Oxford theatre.  Shows are staged during the Easter holidays, are always to a professional standard and always sell out!  We also produce a series of concerts during the year where members showcase their vocal talent in solos and small group numbers. MYCO has a family ethos and members participate in all our activities including shows, concerts, fundraising for local charities and workshops ... Lasting friendships are formed and a lifelong passion for the arts is ignited.’

‘RYT is a youth theatre group situated in the west coast of Cumbria. Starting in 1983, the organisation has developed through the years, becoming well known in and around the local area for putting on shows, pantomimes, plays and concerts. The organisation is a charity group run entirely by volunteers for young people from 5-21 years of age, who are interested in acting, singing, dancing or helping backstage. ‘Formed in 1979, under the auspices of our senior society – Southport Amateur Operatic Society (now Southport Spotlights Musical Theatre Society) – to stimulate the interest of young people in musical productions - the first production being "The Boyfriend" in 1980. Open to young people from the age of ten upwards to eighteen SONG aims to produce one large scale musical each Easter, and a smaller workshop or cabaret style presentation in the autumn.’

'In 1979 the City of Stoke-on-Trent Amateur Operatic Society set up a youth section, which soon became known as "Stoke Youth". In 2006, following the decision to wind up the "Adult" Operatic Society, a small group of committed & determined individuals took the view that they wished to continue to support the talented young performers of "Stoke Youth" and take the personal risk of backing the establishment of a new volunteer run registered charity Stoke Youth Musical Theatre Company. Stoke Youth continues to stage challenging performances & training to meet the aim of "developing young people".' ALERT At Review: ‘New Website coming soon’.

Valley Academy is a stage school based in the Crawshawbooth area of the Rossendale Valley.
