'Founded in 1965. Ferring is a unique coastal village with a far-seeing outlook. Those who come to live here seem to share the love of the place and its surroundings and they also bring their interests and talents with them. An excellent start for any group. Programmes are arranged in advance and usually presented by our members over a 2 hour period and includes an interval for refreshments.'

Lancing Ukulele Village Club (L.U.V. Club) is a new uke jam for Lancing, West Sussex. Organised by the people behind Worthing's Wukulele, we endeavour to bring our love of the ukulele to Lancing Village. L.U.V. Club is open to complete beginners and expert players alike from the ages of 16 to 106. We will play a broad range of popular music tunes, sing along, have a drink or two and strum our cares away. It is a friendly, sociable club and we believe that musical experience (or lack of it) should be no barrier to enjoyment.‘

‘Meets fortnightly to enjoy recorded classical music presented by members or guest presenters. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and we welcome guests, prospective members and visitors. The choice of music is a personal one but usually reflects a theme like the music of a country or historical period. However, programmes consisting of a selection of personal favourites can be just as popular. There is no pressure to present a programme and indeed most members just come to listen and enjoy good company.’

Formed 1982: ‘The Chorus was established in conjunction with the West Sussex Adult Education centre based at Boundstone following the closure of the Lancing Choral Society which had played a major role in enhancing the cultural life of its community for over forty years ... The repertoire of the Chorus has been influenced, in part, by the traditions set by the Choral Society of “tackling the most difficult of the choral repertoire of the great masters” ... The Chorus also enjoys performing music from different genres and has embraced music from operas, musicals and even the 1970s!‘

‘A long established amateur choir with a good balance of about 30 Soprano, 30 Alto, 10 Tenor and 25 Bass voices with a good mix of ages ranging from those just out of college through to retirement. This balanced range of voices allows the choir to undertake many varied types of choral music from modern composers back to the stalwarts and probable founders of choral music as we understand it today.’
