'Founded in 1965. Ferring is a unique coastal village with a far-seeing outlook. Those who come to live here seem to share the love of the place and its surroundings and they also bring their interests and talents with them. An excellent start for any group. Programmes are arranged in advance and usually presented by our members over a 2 hour period and includes an interval for refreshments.'

‘Meets fortnightly to enjoy recorded classical music presented by members or guest presenters. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and we welcome guests, prospective members and visitors. The choice of music is a personal one but usually reflects a theme like the music of a country or historical period. However, programmes consisting of a selection of personal favourites can be just as popular. There is no pressure to present a programme and indeed most members just come to listen and enjoy good company.’
Typically first Friday of the Month at 8.30 pm in the Steyning Centre.
'Has acquired a reputation for being one of the most welcoming and friendly concert promoters in the South-East. Concerts are presented at the Steyning Centre; a comfortable, modern community centre with first class amenities ... In addition to presenting concerts the Society organises educational workshops involving young people and adults.'
‘Worthing’s wonderful Wurlitzer is a combination of select orchestral voices and superb craftsmanship. The sound you hear is produced from over 1,500 pipes, which come from the two organ chambers each side of the stage. The pipes range from 2 inches to 32 feet in length. Alongside side these pipes are real percussion instruments, a Xylophone, Vibraharp, Sleigh Bells, Drums, Cymbals, even a set of Cathedral Chimes!’ Typically, hald a dozen Sunday afternoon concerts per annum.
‘The Band was formed in 1999 and currently has 35+ members. Based in Worthing, the band comprises local wind, brass and percussion players. The band performs a varied repotoire including light classical, marches, show tunes and big band jazz.’
‘We are a group of muscians who meet to play traditional and contemporary folk music from around the world. The instruments we play include guitars, mandolins, bouzouki, fiddles, accordians, melodians, concertinas, recorders, flutes, whistles, bodhrans and cellos. We meet regularly to play and at garden parties and other events over the summer ... Following a successful inaugural concert at the Tenterden Folk Festival in 2014, Sussex Folk Orchestra now regularly play alongside the Yardarm Folk Orchestra as the United Folk Orchestra.’

‘A long established amateur choir with a good balance of about 30 Soprano, 30 Alto, 10 Tenor and 25 Bass voices with a good mix of ages ranging from those just out of college through to retirement. This balanced range of voices allows the choir to undertake many varied types of choral music from modern composers back to the stalwarts and probable founders of choral music as we understand it today.’
‘Makes a unique contribution to the musical life of the region. We have a season of five concerts per year, including our acclaimed “Last Night of the Proms” and a hugely popular Christmas Concert ... Our members come from across the south coast area and include professional and semi-professional musicians, university and college students, peripatetic teachers and keen local amateur musicians. With a full strength membership of over 75 musicians we are able to cover a wide repertoire, including major Classical and Romantic symphonies and concerti as well as large-scale 20th Century orchestral works and choral works ... Worthing Philharmonic has a working relationship with the prestigious '”Tonmeister” sound recording course at the University of Surrey, providing an opportunity for the sound engineers of the future to record a full symphony orchestra.’
'The Band is always very welcoming to anyone who wishes to come and play with us, either as a member of just to have a go. The members range from beginners to semi-professional musicians and the music range reflects this. With marches, show tunes, pop songs, classical pieces and even a bit of rock - there is always something for everyone!
'Worthing Symphony Orchestra has been part of the town’s music scene since 1926. Widely regarded as one of the finest professional orchestras in the south of England, the Worthing Symphony Orchestra presents an annual season of concerts ... in the acoustically superb Assembly Hall, central Worthing.'
