‘The Lenthall Concerts have been bringing music of outstanding quality to West Oxfordshire since 1992 ... Each winter season of six concerts brings a mixture of internationally established artists and talented young musicians to Burford School.’

‘Come and enjoy superb classical vocal and instrumental performances with visiting international soloists. We combine music which is familiar with some surprises - often poetry too. The recitals are friendly, inclusive and entrance is free - arrive at any time that suits you and bring your own lunch.’

‘In the summer of 1965 a small group of people in Witney called a meeting at which there was overwhelming support for establishing a Society in Witney dedicated to putting on regular concerts by professional classical musicians ... A pattern was soon established of holding six concerts a year on the second Friday of each winter month from October to March. This has continued uninterruptedly ever since and over the years we have welcomed many young musicians who have later become famous ... ‘. The Society receives welcome financial support from a number of sources and ‘has also received grants from the Witney Educational Foundation, which allows us to arrange concerts for schools within the Witney area’.

‘Founded in 1969, originally under the name of the RAF Brize Norton Singers ... The membership initially was comprised of Royal Air Force personnel and their wives, but quickly branched out to include civilians from the local community ... In December 2003 the RAF Brize Norton Singers reluctantly decided to leave the umbrella of the RAF and changed their name to the Brize Singers ... The Singers are always happy to receive requests to perform in venues in Witney and the surrounding area, particularly to help with fundraising ... They also perform a number of their own concerts during the year, including a couple at Christmas and their annual concert in September each year.’

’Amateur Orchestra who rehearse in Witney ... and perform 3 concerts a year in Burford and West Oxfordshire. Founded in 1954 ... We welcome all players, particularly strings and low brass, and there is no audition! We play a variety of popular classics from predominantly the Romantic period.’

‘We are a community-based choir of about 100 singers who live on the Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire border. We perform concerts of classical choral music three times a year in the church of St John the Baptist, Burford.‘

‘The Society was formed in 1991 and since then has sung a wide range of choral works from early and baroque music through to classical and contemporary works. Although originally members came from the villages of the Lower Windrush area, our singers now come from considerably further afield. We perform two or three concerts a year in local venues, often in Witney. Although we wish to remain a relatively small and intimate choir, we would welcome more singers in all sections. There are no auditions but you must be able to sing in tune, and a basic ability to read music is desirable.’

‘Made up of a group of enthusiastic brass musicians who love playing - whether in rehersals or at public /private engagements. We are committed to providing a good standard of musical performance whatever the occasion. We rehearse weekly and also measure our musical performance standards by competing in local and national brass contests ... We are always happy to welcome new players of any age and ability. We have a Senior and a Junior band so will have a place for all ages. Even if you do not have your own instrument we should be able to provide you with an instrument to play(subject to availability).’

'Formed in 1975 to provide an outlet for the talents of local amateur musicians. From modest beginnings (the outcome of a parents’ evening at Woodstock Primary School), it has grown from strength to strength. It now comprises a mixed voice choir of about ninety singers, with its own string orchestra.'

'Not only an iconic part of history, but also a living, changing experience with a wealth of sporting and cultural events throughout the year ... On selected dates, visitors can enjoy recitals on our Willis Organ that bring the history and scale of Blenheim Palace to life ... This organ is the largest organ in private ownership in Europe, with four manuals and pedals, 2300 pipes and 53 speaking stops ... The Blenheim Palace Festival of Literature, Film and Music is the best boutique festival in the country.' (Has been held Mid October.)
