‘EHRSS was founded in 1881 ...  by a group of people who wanted to foster the playing of traditional Scottish music ... and was the first of the strathspey and reel societies to be established ... To give us a reason to practise and to promote Scottish fiddle music, we have at least two concerts each session, one close to St Andrew's Night in November and our Annual Concert in March ... The EHRSS now has a Junior Section.’
