‘We are a group specialising in Gaelic work songs, particularly those sung by women while waulking the tweed. We are based in Greenock, Inverclyde ... We are passionate about presenting our songs in the context for which they were designed. They are not concert pieces, but were sung to accompany work - spinning, milking, churning, reaping and grinding corn, as well as waulking the cloth, which forms the centrepiece of all our performances ... We currently have ten members (more always welcome!), and perform regularly at venues up and down the west of Scotland, with the occasional foray to the far east.’
