‘The Cotswold Edge Brass Festival was started in 2016 by four brass musicians from Gloucestershire. We lament the decline of brass music in schools and among young people and have set out to do something practical about it. We have a vision of brass playing flourishing in our area and that our young people develop a lifelong love of music through playing a brass instrument. The Cotswold Edge Brass Festival is about developing an environment that nurtures brass playing for the benefit of the local community.‘ The Brass Festival Weekend held Late June.

Only professional artists of a high calibre are engaged; however we also wish to encourage and engage young artists at the start of their careers.'

‘Music and Song sessions, morris dancing and more ... an event consisting mainly of pub sessions, singarounds of mainly traditional music and morris dancing in the streets. We do not hire performers. SFW is more about people getting together and making music, singing songs and dancing rather than on formal concerts. We do act as an umbrella for other activities taking place during our weekend that are organized by others ... Most events in the Stroud Folk Weekend are free – please give generously when you see the collecting buckets.‘ Usually held Late September.

‘A choir of about 100 members and is known as one of the friendliest choirs in the area. Whether you are an experienced singer or a complete beginner of any age, you are assured of a warm welcome. There are no auditions, but on rare occasions the conductor may require a voice test, if necessary. Our season runs from September to May, and we give at least two concerts, normally in late November and early May ... These concerts take place in the Chapel of Wycliffe College and are accompanied by a fully professional or semi professional orchestra, with first class soloists.
