'We aim to provide a quality guest list with the emphasis on entertainment. Come along and listen in a friendly atmosphere. During Singers' nights we feature local singers and musicians, as well as those visiting Crail. All are welcome. If you don’t want to make music then just come along and tap your feet.'

 

BEWARE! 'The East Neuk is a rural area, and it is common to find yourself behind a tractor or heavy vehicle. This has the great side-effect of making travel a leisurely experience, allowing you all the more opportunity to enjoy the landscape. But please remember to allow plenty of time to reach your concert venue. Latecomers are not guaranteed admission to any event, in whole or in part. If admitted, it may not be possible to take the seat you booked – standing may be the only option.' Held Late June.

 

'Celebrates the glorious sound of wind, brass and percussion. Building on the successful format of the St Andrews Brass Festival Fringe of Gold mixes international performers with University students and staff, as well as musicians from across Fife.' Held Mid November.

'The Music Centre is open to everyone, from absolute beginners to experienced musicians, whether you want to take lessons, play in groups, practise or just come and listen. In addition, the University offers nine undergraduate modules for those who wish to make music part of their degree ... Whilst the majority of concerts and performances are public and open to everybody, many of the other facilities and opportunities offered by the Music Centre are available only to Music Centre members.‘

'Over 9 days, we offer our 25, 000 visitors a wide variety of exhibitions, workshops, talks, children’s events and evening performances, all related to the arts.' Held Early August.

 

'Welcomes emerging conductors of all ages and nationalities to study with Honorary Professor of conducting Sian Edwards. The class will be made up of eight participants; each participant will receive 120 minutes of podium time over the course of the weekend.'  Held Mid June.

 

'St Andrews Music Club promotes chamber music concerts in St Andrews. Our concerts feature young artists at the outset of their careers as well as more seasoned performers with wide international experience. These concerts are open to everyone, members and non-members alike.'

 

‘Scotland’s only festival dedicated to the voice and vocal music. Set in the beautiful town of St Andrews, each October we present a varied programme of events showcasing the versatility and beauty of the human voice in an amazingly broad spectrum of genres including opera, cabaret, lieder, folk, spoken word, choral, a cappella, early music, new music and more ... The festival runs during the day and night and includes family concerts, opportunities to sing-a-long and get involved, as well as free events to enjoy while relaxing with a drink. ‘Choral society, based in the East Neuk of Fife, rehearsing and performing in and around Anstruther. We have a friendly and welcoming approach to everything we do and strive for high standards of performance ... There are two concerts each year, one in early December and one in March.'

 

Byre Opera presents professionally directed, high-quality opera, performed in English, to audiences in St Andrews and beyond. Singers are drawn mainly from the undergraduate and postgraduate student bodies, but casts have also included young professionals, University staff, and local amateurs. Singers benefit from regular coaching from internationally renowned opera singers and coaches as well as the opportunity to work with professional directors, designers and orchestral musicians.’

 

‘Based in Cupar, Fife we are a long established mixed voice choir, averaging about 65 members. We perform two concerts during our season from September till April, music ranging from classic choral works to modern pieces. The Society aims to give its members pleasure from the study and practice of choral music, and to provide concerts of a high standard.‘

 

‘A wonderful, friendly group of local musicians of all ages mainly from North Fife who get together to play music simply for fun ... The Muchty Musicmakers run Music Workshops on Sundays offering tuition in Guitar, Fiddle, Whistle, Mouth Organ, Accordion and Keyboard ... We play regularly at community and other events. ‘We are a small group of singers based in the East Neuk of Fife. We mostly sing a cappella but our ever-expanding repertoire also includes items accompanied by piano, organ and string orchestra. We regularly perform a wide variety of material at venues throughout the East Neuk.’

 

'We are a "town and gown" choir with about 150 singers, including students. If you can "hold a tune" you are most welcome to join us and enjoy the musical and social activities of the choir. It is not necessary to be able to sight read music, you do not have to audition, and we provide the scores. Just turn up at any rehearsal, or, for more information, please send us an email ...'

 

'The Byre Theatre has been part of the University of St Andrews since 2014, hosting a varied and vibrant programme of University, student, amateur and professional productions of theatre, dance, musicals, music, opera and family focussed performances. Under the University’s management, the theatre is succeeding in attracting audiences from the town and beyond to enjoy a wide variety of programming across a diverse range of art forms.'

With a fully operational kitchen, two halls available for hire and a stage sound and lighting system, our space is adaptable for all occasions ...
