’Children’s Concerts is a charity which aims to give thousands of primary-aged school children the opportunity to hear what a classical orchestra can do “live”. For many children this will be the first time they hear and see a great group of musicians playing compositions by some of the world’s greatest composers, both old and new, in a concert hall.‘

‘Founded by volunteers in 2010, Opera Prelude presents critically acclaimed and exciting lecture recitals, workshops, masterclasses, concerts and rare or rediscovered operas in historic and prestigious locations in London and Oxfordshire. A small charity, passionate about bringing opera to new audiences, our events form a bridge across the footlights, introducing you to our young singers and their wonderful, enriching world. We aim to support the early career development of young artists, showcasing their talents and advocating for them, whilst advancing the understanding and accessibility of opera. We believe that opera is for everyone, whether seasoned aficionados or absolute newcomers, and our mission is to open access to this thrilling art form.’

Forthcoming Concerts and Recitals

'Covers an area of Southern and South Eastern England already well served with concerts, festivals of early music, early music summer schools and workshops. We have chosen, therefore, to concentrate on tutored playing days for a membership made up of competent but adventurous early music enthusiasts who enjoy playing with like-minded friends. Many leading teachers and other experienced players live in our area and give generously of their time to plan, organise and participate in these inspiring events. The playing days are designed for players of both early and modern instruments who just love playing the early repertoire on whatever is available ... Non-members are invited to try one of our playing days.'
