‘We are a friendly ladies choir who practice weekly in Selby, North Yorkshire and enjoy the fellowship and fun of singing together ... We perform about six to eight concerts per year, mostly to raise funds for charity. The choir has a varied repertoire, ranging from pieces by classical composers such as Handel & Mozart, to folk songs and songs from musicals and the shows. At Christmas time we sing for several carol concerts. There are about 18 members; the choir has an extensive library of musical scores which are loaned to choir members.’

+ Brayburn Singers Ladies Choir

'A world-renowned venue for visiting orchestras, theatrical groups and our very own Selby Abbey Choir. The Abbey offers a packed calendar of events and special concerts throughout the year. The backdrop of this ancient and wonderful Abbey Church ensures the experience is both atmospheric and memorable .. The organ of Selby Abbey is one of the finest romantic instruments in Britain. It was built in 1909 by William Hill & Son ... and represented a high point in the course of the British craft that was soon to be lost ... By 2012, the organ had already become regularly unreliable and the rate of deterioration made it clear that it was nearing the end of its active life. It had been patched and repaired a number of times but the moment had finally come for a complete restoration to ensure the glorious sound of this world famous organ could be heard by generations to come ...'
