‘Formed around 1865, fulfils many engagements in Wensleydale every year ...  The band members travel from places as far away as Sedbergh, Pateley Bridge and Leyburn to rehearse ... It is a typical brass band full of friendly people of all ages. The music is varied and the emphasis is always on everyone enjoying music-making.‘

'An established part of community life in this town and the Upper Eden valley and we play at most civic events, celebratory and commemorative. It currently has about 25 members ranging from almost complete beginners to very accomplished musicians ... We also have a group of new players of all ages who are having lessons until they are ready to participate with the band in performances in the near future ... There is a good, friendly spirit in this band ... Obviously people make mistakes, especially with new music, but more advanced players help newcomers because in the end everyone just wants the band to get better and better ...'

‘A community brass band based in England's book town on the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park ... The Band rehearses every Wednesday from 7pm-9pm in Sedbergh School's band room. Everybody is welcome to join in or come along and listen. We have a training band ... Beginners can easily get involved no matter what their musical background (or age!). We perform concerts and hold fund-raising events throughout the year.’
