‘Founded in 1972 by Welsh composer William Mathias, the NWIMF continues to delight audiences from across the globe. The fantastic acoustics of our concert venue, St Asaph Cathedral, make for a stunning musical experience. With innovation and flair, this festival of music-making has been compared by audiences as akin to a week at The Barbican or SouthBank.’ Held Mid - Late September.

'North Wales' premier live classical music venue ... Whilst venues such as Theatre Clwyd and Venue Cymru offer a small number of classical events, only Rhyl Music Club stages a series of 12 concerts every year ... One of the aims of the club each season is to support young musicians in North Wales who are thinking of a musical career ... We have sponsored school workshops led by our visiting artists who have also given master-classes as a prelude to their evening concerts ... We have always striven, usually successfully, to attract the very best performers we can afford for our discerning audiences. From chamber orchestras to brass ensembles, string, piano, wind and percussionist soloists to choirs and singers, the aim is always to provide the highest quality of live music outside of the main urban centres.'

Côr Meibion Colwyn is proud of its long history recognising that there has been a choir in its home village of Colwyn since the 1890’s. Welsh is its first language however its rehearsals are held in both the medium of English with a good content of Welsh conversation. This is so as not to exclude our non Welsh speaking members but to also give them the “Welshness” of the choir and opportunity to get to learn the language at the same time.’
