'Horsham Music Circle's first concert was held in May 1942 in the Friends’ Meeting House in Worthing Road. Recalling the early days 21 years later for the Circle’s coming of age concert, Mr D J Coulson, then headmaster of Collyer’s, wrote: “Even in those uncertain wartime days the Circle showed unmistakably that it had the three fundamental requisites for all successful enterprises – a modest beginning, energetic optimism and an organiser who combined the rare gifts of imaginative foresight and outstanding musicianship with tremendous drive and apparently tireless enthusiasm ...'

‘HBB is a friendly First Section band based in Horsham. We have around 30 members from across West and East Sussex attracted by the band's atmosphere and high standard of music ... We have a large and varied repertoire. At our concerts, you will hear traditional marches and overtures, music from film and stage, solo items and the best from the modern brass repertoire ... Horsham Borough Band regularly takes part in the London and the South East Contest and locally in the Southern Counties Amateur Bands Association (SCABA) contests. ‘Community band featuring brass and woodwind instruments and percussion.  Founded in the late 1970's, the Band takes its name from the village of Slinfold, near Horsham in West Sussex, where it rehearses every week ... Slinfold Concert Band may be seen on bandstands, in concert venues and at charity fund-raising events across the South East of England.  We are a very busy band taking part in many engagements throughout the year. The music in the Band's repertoire covers a wide variety of styles and genres including light classical, Big Band, music from film and stage and plenty more besides! In November and April, we perform two concerts ... Additionally, in December, we perform a concert ... Professional musicians – both soloists and orchestral players - support our concerts. The orchestral players make up the “Sinfonia da Chiesa”.’

‘From May to August each year you can enjoy free concerts on the Carfax Bandstand organised by Horsham District Council. The concerts take place on Saturdays at 11am. The performances range from Brass to Jazz to traditional  - music to suit most tastes! ... Visit Horsham Park on Sundays between May and August and enjoy free bandstand concerts on the Park Podium every afternoon at 2.30pm.’
