‘A community wind band encouraging local musicians to stretch their potential by playing a challenging and entertaining repertoire. At Emsworth Concert Band we believe that music making has to be enjoyable ... We always welcome enquiries from musicians for all sections of the Band ... We would normally expect musicians to be of Grade 6 standard or above. If you do not have this as a formal qualification we normally take in to consideration general musical ability, age and experience.’

‘An independent group of some 30-40 players of mixed ages and musical backgrounds who perform as a recorder orchestra ... The members of HRS are as diverse and versatile as are their instruments. Some players are professional musicians, others are gifted students or enthusiastic and talented amateurs. They all meet with a common aim - the pursuit of excellence and the enjoyment of good music.‘

‘The choir originally formed in 1961 by a group of Portsmouth Postmen, singing as they sorted the mail. Based at the Head Post Office Portsmouth, in 1974 the name of the choir changed to what it is known by today, The Solent Male Voice Choir ... Recently we have moved our base of operations to St Faiths Church Hall in Havant, where there are better acoustics, a great piano, and support from the church ... We are always looking for new members ...’

‘A Capella choir based in Emsworth, Hampshire, UK, of approx 34 mixed voices, specialising in Renaissance music, but also more contemporary composers such as Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen, Rutter, Poulenc ... We are delighted to welcome new members ... We encourage singers to attend as many rehearsals as possible and to be prepared to put in additional time at home for note learning. However, we have our own home-grown midi file page to help members to learn the current repertoire. It is very helpful if you can sight read music, and it’s essential that you can hold your own musical line. There are frequent opportunities for semi-chorus or solo work. Entry is on completion of a successful audition with the Musical Director.’
