Founded 1984: ‘The very high standard of entertainment that has been offered over the years at a reasonable cost to both members and guests has seen both attendance at the concerts and the club membership remain at a very high number. ‘A well-established choir based in the Medway Towns in Kent. We usually promote our own concerts twice a year (including a carol concert at Christmas) but are very happy to perform at other events for charities, etc.’

‘A very friendly and welcoming group of people who love singing together and engaging with their audiences, set up in 2013 following a short programme of workshops, Rivervoice reach across the disabled and non-disabled communities and ensure that music making is accessible to all. Our approach is that there is no requirement for members to read a musical score (though these are available) and rehearsal sessions are led by professional musicians, allowing for the development of a broad repertoire, improving musical skills and raising confidence. Alongside a programme of regular concert performances, RiverVoice also aspires to undertake flagship projects to continue building our creative profile and also welcomes invitations to perform within the local community. We are based in Medway but our members are from a wider area.’

Music Making in Medway since 1873: ‘Still going strong in the twenty-first century, has always striven to achieve high standards of singing, from the great choral works to traditional folk songs. While we are a secular society and welcome singers from all beliefs and backgrounds, we have, ever since 1922, performed regularly in Rochester Cathedral, a prestigious venue that we regard with great affection ... We perform three or four concerts a year, often with an orchestra composed of a most talented group of players. They come together as the Rochester Sinfonietta, to perform with us and achieve a high standard ... It is a pleasure and a privilege for an amateur Choral Society to be associated with such fine musicians, professional and amateur. As amateurs, we also get a thrill when performing with renowned professional soloists’.

'We are a non contesting brass band based in Sittingbourne ... In the early days of the band all the players worked at the Paper Mill and were given time off to attend rehearsals and play at concerts. The band was often seen at parades and processions, marching along Sittingbourne High Street.  In recent times the number of players working at the mill has fallen and the band attracts players from across north Kent ... In every concert, we play a balanced programme containing varied music to suit everyone's tastes. Our repertoire contains traditional marches, and selections from popular musicals, but it also contains popular songs and some more unusual pieces as well - we provide a programme to entertain everyone!'

'Rochester Cathedral is the Mother Church of the second most ancient diocese in England, and has resounded to the singing of God's praises since AD 604, when St Augustine appointed Justus to be the first Bishop ... Rochester Cathedral has a vibrant programme of concerts, exhibitions and activities throughout the year. There is something for everyone ... Hear our spectacular organ being played by internationally acclaimed organists.'
