‘Our ukulele club had its first meeting in November 2016 ... We plan to meet every fortnight on a Tuesday ... We will perform for charity events. We have rehearsed sets of songs. We have a PA system with 5 microphones, 4 foldback stage monitors and a 500w stereo main PA. Although we do not make a charge we do have our own charities that we support and would welcome donations ... We've called our venture Uke on the Brain as Braintree has the River Brain flowing through it and what better to have on the brain than a ukulele!’

The CPO usually performs three major concerts each year ... and attracts players from as far afield as Cambridge, Bishop's Stortford, Southend and Colchester.'
