'A concert band composed of around 30 friendly amateur players, with a wide range of ages. The band has existed for over 135 years, and we feel proud to have this history behind us ... During the course of a year we play concerts both locally, and on bandstands in and around Kent and Sussex. We vary our programme from one concert to the next and our repertoire includes selections and themes from shows and films, popular light music, and marches.'

'Has a deserved reputation for musical excellence and the broad range of music we present. We have a history stretching back to 1912 and we strive to continue with the traditions of live music. We have two strings to our bow, the staged musical events and a choir, which is how we originally began all those years ago, and each year we are producing concerts and shows for the public. We are also very happy to be invited to put on a concert with the choir in aid of a good cause ...'

'The Society's principal aim of presenting very high-quality performances attracts large audiences and enables it to engage first-rate professional soloists and orchestral musicians. The latter are mostly Kent- or London-based, and many were formerly in Kent County Youth Orchestra ... Rehearsals are demanding, but fun, making Wednesday evenings a most rewarding experience. Singers are friendly and always keen to welcome new members.'

synchordia.co.uk

'Synchordia was formed in 2009 by Nicholas Downs and a few players who had played in a number of groups over the years in the wake of a breakdown of local music groups and ensembles. Synchordia has grown in to a community group of musicians to include a community choir called Synchordia Singers and also a Saxophone Quartet. A group that started with less than 20 players has grown in to an ensemble of over 30 players and a choir of up to 20 singers. We have players aged 7 – 70+ so whatever your age or experience you will be welcomed in to the group.'
