'Formed in August 2009 when a number of like-minded individuals began to visualise the formation of a Male Choir in the Lower Llynfi Valley. Our group of experienced and well respected Choristers came up with some basic philosophies: Keep the choir to a manageable size; Take our music to the community-at-large; Establish ourselves as a quality musical group; Encourage less experienced Choristers to grow in ability and musicality; Share our joy in singing!'

‘Founded in May 2013, we play a wide variety of music and perform regularly. In addition to orchestral performances, we have connections with other local groups which often provide further opportunities for members of the orchestra. We require that you are at least of Grade 4 standard before joining us and that you own your own instrument. A short term instrument loan may be available in some cases. We welcome people from all walks of life in the orchestra, including students, adult returners and professional musicians.’

Founded 1980: ‘The choir takes great pride in bringing uniquely talented artistes to Porthcawl whilst also upholding the Welsh Tradition of choral singing. We hope that with the support of our valued audiences, patrons and other supporters, we can continue to present these celebrity concerts ... Our repertoire is varied, covering music from shows, opera, traditional male voice numbers, Welsh hymns and modern musical pieces and we adapt our programme to suit the occasion. Singing is good for the soul, as well as lungs and heart, and is an excellent form of stress relief’.
