‘Buckland and Betchworth was formed in 1923. Originally a "village" choir with members drawn mainly from the two villages, today we have members “commuting” from all over Surrey ... It doesn't matter if you think you are a bit rusty: there is no audition and you don't even have to read music. We are a social and friendly choir focused on enjoying making music together and improving our standards as a team - everyone is welcome!’

Founded 1980: ‘English Arts Chorale concerts appeal to a wide range of musical tastes, with major concertos rubbing shoulders with Russian folk music, and unaccompanied short works by living composers alongside the major choral-orchestral repertoire such as the Verdi Requiem ... Outstanding orchestral playing by the English Arts Orchestra complements the distinctive English Arts Chorale sound ... Concert venues include London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, Snape Maltings, major cathedrals and European touring. Soloists include distinguished and well-known names as well as some of the most exciting young artists of the next generation ... The English Arts Chorale often performs at least one major work per season entirely from memory, creating performances of immense energy and focus’.

‘A friendly group of singers. We usually perform two concerts a year, one in May and the other in December, both of which are well attended ... There are no auditions, and there is no requirement to read music although this is an advantage. A willingness to learn is important but above all it's about enjoying the stimulation of singing together, the challenge of learning new works and the joy of being part of a successful performance.’

‘We are fun musicians who love music and try our best: * Grades - we don't care; * Auditions - we don't do them; * Music - we love it; * Fun - is what we are about ... Founded on 23rd March 2016. Set up as a warm welcoming fun Orchestra open to musicians in the North Downs region of Surrey, Kent, East & West Sussex & Southern London ... Our members are from a variety of musical backgrounds. Around 20% had never played in an Orchestra before. About 33% were new to their instrument some having only a few weeks experience and with about 40% returning to their instrument after a substantial break in playing, over 30 years in some cases.‘

‘Experience the thrill of taking part in concerts, tours, festivals, workshops and recordings, singing a wide range of music with professional instrumentalists and soloists. Potential new members are warmly invited to meet and sing alongside existing members to achieve high standards in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. New members are always welcome. Previous experience is not required. The choir does not audition new members though a willingness to learn and regular attendance are essential.‘
