'The orchestra was formed in the autumn of 2004 to play larger scale and more adventurous works specifically arranged or composed for the orchestral format ... We play a range of music, enjoying arrangements of orchestral works, and modern works written specifically for recorder orchestra of which there are an increasing number ... Members come from all over Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset, and from the Bristol area: we are keen to increase our numbers, and welcome new players of a good standard. Bass, Great Bass and Contrabass players are especially welcome.'
