‘For more than a century, the Festival has promoted music-making in and around Petersfield, bringing together local singers and instrumentalists of all ages to share the platform with visiting musicians of national and international standing. The Festival takes place at the Petersfield Festival Hall, built for the purpose and officially opened in 1935.’ Held Mid March.

‘Held mainly in the spring each year, in Liss and Petersfield (UK), the festival aims to 'CREATE, NURTURE and INSPIRE' across a broad range of musical styles and mediums by holding concerts, talks and workshops which are fully inclusive. The area is blessed with a large number of expert and professional musicians, many with international reputations, and the common desire is to share good music in a way which can be enjoyed by everybody. Local composers are encouraged and showcased, music students share their learning, and both children and adults can participate in enjoyable workshops to gain new experiences in making music under the guidance of enthusiastic experts. Equally, people who just want to hear good music played brilliantly in concerts which are both local and inexpensive, are delighted with what is on offer every year.’

‘Female chorus singing unaccompanied four part harmony ... We have such a lot of fun each week, warming up before singing, learning new songs and developing our voices. Some of our Chorus have been singing Barbershop for more than twenty years, some for less than a couple of months. We always welcome newcomers, the more the merrier! So if you fancy having a go, just come along.’

'We are a traditional brass band - based in the village of Denmead in Hampshire - with strong community links able to provide music for any occasion. In concert or to support an existing event, the band uses its skills and experience to deliver a wide range of musical services to communities, businesses and other organisations. Denmead Brass also have a training band which is suitable for both children and adults.'

‘Formed in 1993 by a small group of enthusiasts. Many of the original founders had already had distinguished careers in local amateur concert and theatre performance which provided the solid foundation on which the quality of the new society was built. Since those early carefree days, a strong organised structure has evolved which any society must have if it is to survive and move forward ... Our varied repertoire ranges from Musicals to the Movies, and the Beatles through to Gilbert and Sullivan.’

‘We have around 45 members and our repertoire extends from the great choral works, such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Magnificat in D major and David Fanshawe’s African Sanctus, to lesser known pieces ... Two or three major concerts per year ... Some of our activities involve participation in church services. You do not need to be a confirmed member of any church to take part in these events, but you should be willing to participate in Christian services ... Based in the village of Froxfield near Petersfield, in Hampshire.’

‘We perform classical choral works and part songs, in public concerts and smaller recitals, supported by other training and social activities. We also send representatives to sing with the Petersfield Musical Festival, which give us the opportunity to enjoy performing large choral works. We support young musicians as they begin their musical careers and we want to encourage the appreciation of and participation in choral music in the Midhurst area.’

‘Our aim is to provide our members with challenging, rewarding and enjoyable music to rehearse, leading to participation in memorable concerts. We give three concerts a year in November, March and June, with the March concert forming part of the Petersfield Musical Festival.’
