‘We are a jovial bunch of guys who are always keen to welcome new members. Whilst we all remain focussed on our music, we are still able to retain a totally informal atmosphere where friendly banter is the order of the day ... Why confine your singing skills to the bath when so many others could benefit from your suppressed talent!‘

‘If you enjoy singing why not share your ability and discover choral singing with one of the longest established Choral Societies in Scotland. All you need is a good voice and some basic sight-reading ability. The choir consists of around 100 singers drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds and musical abilities ... Membership is dependent on the successful completion of a short, informal audition, submission of a membership form and the payment of the annual subscription.’

'The Society's aim is to provide enjoyment and give people the chance to play in an orchestra. To playing members, amateur and professional alike, it offers the opportunity of being part of a full symphony orchestra, and the satisfaction of giving regular public concerts in a full-sized hall. To listening members, it offers the pleasure of varied concert programmes - classical, romantic, modern, popular, and sometimes adventurous - at a modest cost, in the most central venue in Perth. The orchestra also likes to give young professional musicians, formerly at Perth and Kinross schools, the chance to play as augmenters. Exceptionally talented young Perth professionals are invited to perform as soloists.'

To enable children to become involved in learning the instruments at the earliest opportunity the Vale provides tuition in the evening in both Pitlochry and Perth, alongside a project providing tuition within six of the Primary schools in Perth. The talent of the players in all the bands is in ready supply with many of today’s young Vale players regularly featuring in the prize lists of some of the most prestigious solo piping competitions.’
