‘We are a traditional town band rehearsing and playing for fun! We have a busy calendar including Christmas and summer Quayside concerts. Players of any age and ability always welcome ... Our “Training Band” is primarily a feeder band for the main Brixham Town Band. As such it welcomes anyone interested in learning an instrument, particularly those still at school and those that can read music. All ages and abilities are welcomed. The Band has always considered that the recruiting and training of new players is one of the most important things we can do.’

‘New members are very welcome and we do not require you to have an audition although you will find it an advantage to read music or to be able to follow it to a degree. Come to rehearsals for 2 or 3 weeks to see if you enjoy being in the Choir and there is no obligation for you to stay or pay. If you do decide to continue singing with us then we will ask you to become a member. All voices (we have soprano, contralto, tenor and bass sections) are welcome and we are delighted to have students and young people as members (under 19s do not pay a membership fee). For the sake of harmonious balance we may from time to time restrict the numbers of people joining each section ... We perform a concert at the end of each term and you are encouraged to attend sufficient rehearsals to be concert ready, that is, knowing the music and confident to participate in your section of the Choir.’

‘A true community theatre for the English Riviera, set in the heart of Paignton, and is the oldest working theatre in Torbay, constructed back in 1890. It is owned and run by Torbay Council. The theatre has a seating capacity of 380. It has undergone a major refurbishment and it looks fantastic ... The Theatre’s busy programme ranges from drama, live music, charity events and opera to parties, meetings and conferences.’
