‘Through partnerships with music services nation-wide, we strive to create a singing legacy across the UK. We develop and support choirs and choir leaders through our in-school Choir Creation Scheme and after school AC Academy Choirs. By 2020, we aim to have created 300 children’s choirs and 300 new choir leaders ... An education programme was fundamental to Armonico Consort from the outset: “We were asked by a county music service not to form a children’s choir, which struck me as odd as there were so many young people and so few opportunities. We ignored them, and in 2007 founded our first AC Academy after-school choir ...”.’
