+ Band and Bugles of Durham Army Cadet Force
Listing Details
‘Music has been an integral part of Durham Army Cadet Force since 1919. For many years this was as a Corps of Bugles based at the home of the former 1st Durham Cadet Battalion at Londonderry Hall in South Shields. However, following the demise in 1999 of the Territorial Army's Light Infantry Burma Band, the decision was taken to expand Army Cadet Force music in the County to full Military Band status. Today the Borneo Band (based in Chester-le-Street) comprises musicians playing the full range of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. Being a military band, performances are given both as a marching display and in concert mode.’
