'A leading contemporary arts festival with art for all passions – all happening in our historic market town, right in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales.'  Usually held September,

'A social and educational organisation for children from reception to year 13. It is staffed by professionally qualified musicians and teachers ... Although based in Wirksworth, the music centre attracts students from Matlock, Ashbourne, Crich and many local villages.'

'We are a non-competing band and encourage a relaxed, but professional, approach to our music making. The Band performs for a range of public and private events across Derbyshire throughout the year. We are always delighted to take on new engagements.'

Founded 2007: 'This vibrant, entertaining and vivacious group of women hits the mark with a variety of audiences through their mixed repertoire, infectious joy of singing and sense of fun. Since 2018 we have left our barbershop roots behind and now have a more contemporary approach to our repertoire ... Our philosophy is simple; If we are having a good time then our audiences will too.'

'We are a choir of some 70 to 80 voices with members from north Derbyshire. We employ national and international professional soloists, groups and orchestral players to work with us ... The choir usually performs three or four concerts per year and is a non-profit-making organisation.'

'The Fishpond Choir, with its eclectic repertoire of world music, is unique. The choir started up in the Fishpond pub in 2001 as a mixed, open access community choir. Nobody knows if it was the country’s first pub choir but founder members like to think so ... The choir, which is about fifty strong, sings a wide selection of material which includes folk music from around the world, light classical pieces and items specially written or arranged ... However, its first love is African music - mostly from the south of the continent. Choir members work very hard ... to produce as authentic a sound as possible.'

'Originally established back in September 1983 and has been active ever since. For some years it was known as the Wirksworth Area Community Orchestra (WACO), but has more recently returned to its original name. We are a group of around 45 people who enjoy making music in the company of like minded folk ... We play a wide variety of music, from classical to modern, including music from shows and both the big and small screen. Two or three times a year we put on a concert at a local Derbyshire venue, often joining with other local musicians or groups. Our aim is to provide an opportunity for people of all ages and walks of life to fully participate in an orchestral environment within the rural community.'
