Held Mid November: ‘Over the years, the Festival has made a steady transition from north London to London-wide, and from May to its present November slot, to establish today's multi-faceted 10 day event. It has grown to be not only London's largest city-wide music festival, but one of the major international jazz events. The highlights have been many - each year brings its own character and momentum, and the riches of the Festival can as easily be found in a packed club as in the concert hall.’

A small charity, passionate about bringing opera to new audiences, our events form a bridge across the footlights, introducing you to our young singers and their wonderful, enriching world. We aim to support the early career development of young artists, showcasing their talents and advocating for them, whilst advancing the understanding and accessibility of opera. We believe that opera is for everyone, whether seasoned aficionados or absolute newcomers, and our mission is to open access to this thrilling art form.’

‘The orchestral home to over 40 outstanding professional musicians, who come together in the shared belief that music has the power to transform people across all areas of society. We give over 75 performances every year anywhere from an East London club to international concert halls, cathedrals and opera houses, or communities who because of location or opportunity would not otherwise experience outstanding professional music-making. We spend over 150 days every year in schools where social background often creates a barrier to creativity and ambition, hospitals for young people with severe and challenging conditions, and with older people dealing with loss of loved ones and memory. We place equal value and bring the same approach to everything we do: the highest quality; a distinctive, “seriously informal” style of performance that removes the barriers between musicians and audiences so that people can experience the transformative power of music; and a warmth of music-making that is created through our musicians sharing a wider range of experiences together beyond the concert platform ...’

LCF supports and promotes the work of its members (both amateur and professional), provides opportunities for learning, feedback on works in progress and discussion of ideas, and organises concerts for performance of new works by its members. The group also helps stimulate the creation of new works by co-ordinating workshops, tutorials and seminars on a wide range of composition related topics, from composition styles and theory through to the quirks of writing for particular instrumentations. There are no selection criteria for membership and the member composers range from beginners to professional composers with many years experience.'
