Founded 2006: ‘A music group comprising children and adults with SEND [“Special Education Needs and Disability”] ... A concert is held at the RNCM at the end of each term to showcase the students' achievements. This is also the opportunity to hear the orchestra, solo performances and smaller chamber groups performing a variety of musical genres. In addition to our RNCM concerts, members of Special Virtuosi have played at a number of events across Greater Manchester ... We are endebted to a dedicated team of tutors, all of whom work for SV on a voluntary basis. Their collective biographies feature professional work for the BBC Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata, the Halle, RLPO, RNS as well as peripatetic and classroom music teaching. We have qualified teachers, band-leaders, composers, all sharing their skills in the weekly sessions’.
