'The Band has a special relationship with the City of Lichfield and plays for civic events, including the Sheriff's Ride, twinning and other public ceremonies. Several concerts are given in the Guildhall each year and the band also plays at the annual "Proms in Beacon Park". Invitations are frequently received to play in other venues around the West Midlands ...'

 

'The chorus has around 100 members and performs two or three concerts each year with orchestra or organ to large audiences ... Prospective new members will be asked to take a straightforward audition with the conductor before being accepted into the chorus and then usually every four years afterwards. Auditions are a way of ensuring a certain level of ability and suitable vocal tone on entry to the chorus and for maintaining these subsequently. The audition atmosphere is relaxed and supportive — our conductor will help you to do your best and not to be too nervous.'

 

‘Singing together since April 2009, Lichfield Gospel Choir now has more than 90 members ... We're a joyful community gospel choir singing everything from traditional Zulu songs to modern American gospel ... Whether religious or not, we all find the gospel music fun and uplifting. ‘The symphony orchestra of the City of Lichfield ... We perform three concerts a year. Our two main concerts, at Lichfield Guildhall in May and November, are normally traditional with an overture, concerto and symphony, whilst our summer concert sees us performing lighter film/show music in a venue outside Lichfield.’

The Cathedral also regularly plays host to a great variety of other musical events featuring both local and national performers ... The Hill Organ at Lichfield Cathedral is a truly wonderful instrument and we continue to show-off its versatility ... featuring some of the country’s finest virtuoso players.'
