‘Our first concert – when we were all very nervous – was back in 1998 at the Clothworkers’ Hall at Leeds University. Since then, we’ve performed more and more often, and travelled further afield, including concerts in Manchester, Birmingham, London, Berlin and Paris. We still get nervous! As well as big concerts, we’ve performed at various festivals and events. Although our performances are a focus for our repertoire and rehearsals, they’re not the be all and end all. Some members choose not to perform – and few of us make every performance. The real joy of being in the choir is the friendly atmosphere and camaraderie built around our common joy of singing. We welcome any members of the LGBT* communities who share that joy and want to be a part of it.’
