Formed 1997: ‘The Choir is intentionally small with a maximum of 50 members, but is of high quality and produces a beautiful yet resonant tone.  Music critics have acclaimed its musicality and tender tonal qualities. It has taken tremendous strides in a relatively short time, and is in great demand for concerts not only in its native West Yorkshire, but also in North Yorkshire and East Yorkshire. The Airedale Male Voice Choir’s repertoire is constantly growing with some 180 pieces of music and is diverse in its choice as it is in expression and performance’.

‘We meet regularly to practise handbell tune ringing and we enjoy entertaining people. So far we have rung at nursing homes, walking clubs, club and society dinners, fetes and weddings. Three times a year we join other handbell teams to ring at rallies organised by either the national or local branch of the handbell ringer's association ... New members are always welcome. Reading music is not essential but a sense of rhythm, fun and a good sense of humour always helps!’

‘A long-established and celebrated brass band ... The Haworth Band strives to serve the local community and to provide a forum for musicians of any age who enjoy playing music in an ensemble. We endeavour to encourage the development of new players and provide instruments and musical tuition. The Haworth Band is a registered charity dedicated to developing musical skills to ensure the longevity of a brass-band tradition in the community ... We welcome players of all ability.‘

‘Producing an annual Musical in October, and a traditional pantomime in January.’

‘We are an inclusive choir and are always happy to welcome new members. Prospective members are invited to come along to any of our rehearsals to try us out. If, after you have sung with us a few weeks, you decide you would like to join the choir you will have a short “voice check” with our musical director. This is to check your assessment of your voice is correct and will confirm in which section your voice is best suited. As a choir member you can expect to participate in about six concerts a year, and maybe a tour in the UK or Europe. Dates of concerts and tours are announced well in advance,’
