'We usually have four concerts a year. Typically the Easter and October/November concerts are classical and the Christmas and Summer concerts less formal. Concert venues are usually in Hemel Hempstead, where we can be accompanied by a variety of instruments including piano, organ, harp or small orchestra. Occasionally we join forces with other choirs ... to allow us to perform larger scale works.'

‘Founded in 1947, we have about 100 members who come from Chipperfield and the surrounding area. Our repertoire is wide and varied. Every year just before Christmas there are traditional Christmas Concerts in the wonderful setting of St Paul’s village church in Chipperfield. In the spring, the concert features a major work given in a larger venue and in the summer we return to St Paul’s for a concert of lighter music.’

'We aim to give members the opportunity to sing together in a choir, perhaps for the first time, singing a wide repertoire from classical, world music and folk to gospel and pop. You don’t need to be able to read music to take part – it’s all explained as we go along ... Unlike many other choirs, we rehearse during the day, providing a chance to sing for those who are unable to join an evening group. Our membership therefore reflects a wide range of the community, from students, young parents, those not working during the morning, to those who are retired. There are no auditions – all adults are welcome.'
