! Haywards Heath KEY

‘We are a group of people who enjoy live music - listening to it or making it. We meet every month ... to hear a visiting professional play a two-hour live music show on the electronic organ. If you have never heard an electronic organ, you will not realise what a variety of music can be created using it ... Music can be made in many different styles, recreating famous big-band sounds, for example, marching bands, orchestras, Mantovani-type strings, small jazz groups, theatre organ, and even classical organ - the list is endless and the variety is enormous.’

* Burgess Hill Keyboard Club
Forthcoming Concerts and Recitals

'Bringing the best of new professional musical talent, plus other more established performers, to Mid-Sussex. Although we face increased competition from other local organisations and the media, our continuing goal is to provide a varied and entertaining selection of concerts which should appeal to a wide audience. We welcome non-members to our concerts, but there are significant financial advantages in becoming a member, so why not join us!'

* Haywards Heath Music Society
Forthcoming Concerts and Recitals

Formed January 2010: ‘An ensemble of experienced and talented players who bring fun and innovation to the world of brass music ... It has entertained audiences across the south of England at corporate receptions, weddings, concerts, dances, garden parties and outdoor prom nights. Brass Fusion offers a varied and enjoyable repertoire: from dance music, through jazz and blues to the classics. Whatever music you choose, Brass Fusion is guaranteed to make your event go with a swing’.

‘A friendly and vibrant choir of around 80 singers, led by a dynamic conductor/musical director who makes rehearsals enjoyable while achieving high standards, leading to inspired performances. In 2017, the Choral Society celebrated its 70th anniversary ... Two concerts are presented each year ... The choir's repertoire covers a range of classical choral music from the 15th century to the present day.’

+ Burgess Hill Choral Society
Forthcoming Concerts and Recitals

‘The Orchestra was founded in 1979 as the Martlets Sinfonietta ... In 1985 the Orchestra ... became the Burgess Hill Sinfonietta ... The title “Sinfonietta” no longer does justice to the orchestra’s size and repertoire, so in 2000 we changed our name to the Burgess Hill Symphony Orchestra ... Three concerts per year in May, June and November, plus an extra informal concert for our patrons which is usually in March.’

‘Formed in May 1986 following the amalgamation of the Haywards Heath Town Band and the Burgess Hill Brass Band. This move was necessitated by dwindling numbers of personnel in both bands and enabled the creation of a stronger band that could continue to maintain the busy programme of engagements and competitions that both bands had undertaken in the past ... MSBB is pleased to incorporate a thriving Youth Band ... The Youth Band has successfully nurtured and developed young players, a number of whom have progressed to the Senior Band where they make an invaluable contribution. The Mid Sussex Brass Band is a self-supporting organisation, funded by the subscriptions of members and from performance fees.’

'One of the foremost choirs in Sussex, regularly performing a range of exciting and popular choral works in Mid Sussex and Brighton ... Based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, the choir enjoys a long history, dating back to 1921 when Ditching W.I. formed a singing group. Today, the choir performs regularly in Burgess Hill and at least once a year in Brighton.'
