'First held in 1970, and grew out of the local Accordion and Fiddle Club that met in the Commercial Hotel (now the Liddesdale Hotel). From that initial one day event has grown the friendliest, most welcoming and family friendly traditional music festival in Scotland!' Held Late June.

Pinafore" ... Nowadays the company still thrives and is open to anyone with an interest in Drama, Musical Theatre and Dance. We are always looking for enthusiastic people to tread the boards with us and people to help with backstage and production. 'The name "Saxhorn Band" the only one now remaining in Scotland, comes from the name of a brass instrument invented by one, Adolphe Sax and described as "a valve instrument of the bugle type, played with a cup mouthpiece" ...  Our Band was formed in 1855 ... We are part of a tradition of music making dating back to 1809 when the first civilian brass band was formed ... Whether you are a brass beginner or an experienced player you'll find a warm welcome.'

'Instituted in1854, the JIB is one of the UKs oldest continuously running Bands. We are now one of the most progressive Brass Band organisations in the United Kingdom ... As many as sixty players are involved in the band organisation, ranging in age from 7 to 65. We have two brass bands - a senior band and a "junior" band, which perform regularly throughout the year, at concerts, local festivals, church services, and band contests.'

'An arts and culture led regeneration project, designed to make a substantial contribution to the social, cultural and economic well-being of Hawick and the wider Borders. The project transformed three derelict buildings in the West End of the town with the aim of creating jobs, building new sustainable facilities and encouraging visitors to the area.'
