'A self funding, non-profit making community group ... We initially ran short jazz improvisation workshops under the tutelage of local musicians, but now hold 2 & 3 day events with musicians of international standing ... These events are fully booked well in advance ... Having organised a couple of small festivals in the past, we have now opted to regularly put on jazz & blues gigs on the Fourth Friday of every month ... Ticket reservations are essential, since nights are regularly sold out.'

 

Founded 1999: ‘CGWM’s core activity is one to one tuition of the highest standard offered to students of all ages from beginner to professional levels. Group theory tuition is also organised as well as chamber choir for young people, daytime choir for adults, chamber ensembles, composition workshops, various music festivals, masterclasses and workshops’.

 

'The Club's remit is to present concerts of high quality and varied content, mostly classical, but with some folk/jazz/ethnic elements. It also arranges workshops in conjunction with some of the concerts, in the main for young people but with opportunities for adults as well. In addition a talk is given each year highlighting repertoire from one particular concert. All these activities serve to enhance the musical enjoyment and understanding of the community.'

 

‘The main objectives of Gwasanaeth Cerdd Ysgolion (schools music service) is to promote and encourage musical activity among the children and young people of Gwynedd and Anglesey. We do this by: * providing instrumental and vocal music lessons at school to over 3,000 pupils; * our musical instruments lending scheme; * regional and county ensembles.’

'The Festival was established in 1992 by a small group of volunteers that wanted to form a music festival in the town of Dolgellau. The aim was to create a free entry festival that took place on the streets of the town. The idea latched on to the general public and within a few years Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau had grown into one of Wales’ biggest festivals.' Held Mid July.

'The largest of the two Male Voice Choirs in Blaenau Ffestiniog and rehearse weekly on Thursdays in the main Hall of Ysgol y Moelwyn, Blaenau Ffestiniog. The Rehearsals begin at 7.30p.m. and all are welcome. Why not go one step further and join the Choir as a member and become part of one of the most successful and travelled Male Voice Choirs in Wales? A warm welcome awaits you all.'

 

Opra Cymru is the world’s only company performing opera in Welsh. The Company was founded in 2008 by Sioned and Patrick Young. Since its launch in June 2009, OPRA Cymru has presented four small-scale touring productions across Wales - promoting opera, promoting the young performing talents of Wales, and most of all, promoting Welsh as the “language of choice” for the performance of opera.’
