‘The Abbey is available to a wide variety of choirs, orchestras and instrumental groups for concerts and recitals. Our main aim is to offer concerts of a high quality. Approximately twelve concerts are held per year and dates therefore tend to be booked well in advance, often two years, so we advise you to make any enquiries in good time ... The Abbey's magnificent pipe organ occupies a loft in the North Transept. It was originally built in 1856 by Gray & Davidson to a specification similar to their exhibit at the Great Exhibition of 1851 ... A major rebuild and improvement of the organ was carried out by Kenneth Tickell & Co. in 2004/5, most notably adding the Nave division, which sits below the great west window.’
