'Founded 1987 ... Come along and join in the fun! ... Cleckheaton is situated in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, right in the middle of the West Yorks Conurbation, with Leeds, Bradford and Halifax, Huddersfield and Dewsbury all approx the same short distance away. Affectionately known by the locals (and regular visitors) as just plain Clecky.' Festival held Early July.

'We are an enthusiastic group of amateur performers dedicated primarily to performing the works of W.S. Gilbert and A.S. Sullivan ... Sir William Schwenck Gilbert and Sir Arthur Seymour Sullivan collaborated on fourteen operettas in total and since its formation, the Society has proudly performed thirteen of them over the years, trying to ensure that the less popular shows get an occasional airing.'

‘A Yorkshire based non-contesting brass band ... The Band, founded in 1854, has a proud heritage of both contesting and entertaining. However, we currently do not participate in contests yet still play a varied concert programme throughout the year.’

‘Has won widespread critical acclaim for its performances of a wide range of sacred and secular music. The choir took its name from St. Peter's Convent, Horbury, where the group was based for seven years ... Consort has given three subscription concerts each year since its formation. It also raises money for church funds and charities by the giving of recitals and has made regular Cathedral visits to sing services when resident choirs are on vacation.’

'This fine Victorian Town Hall stands in front of the old marketplace in the centre of bustling Dewsbury town centre. This imposing grade 2 listed building is full of original stained glass windows, wood panelling, beautiful columns and ornate ceilings. The Town Hall contains an intimate 700 seat concert hall, spectacular function and meeting rooms, plus it also contains the Old Court Room.'
