‘Launched in July 2016, Sefton Council and Knowsley Council Music Hubs joined together to create a new Sefton and Knowsley Youth (SKY) Music Hub. The new SKY Music Hub is working to develop the range and quality of music education opportunities for children and young people across the two areas. For example, sharing expertise from each area, broadening the range of opportunities for children and young people and improving the support, training and resources available to teachers in schools.‘

'Started in 1960 ... Our repertoire ranges from 16th Century works to those of living composers and covers both major serious and popular works ... Members are from a wide age range and many different backgrounds. Some of us like to do solos and some wouldn't dream of it. Some are fluent sight readers and others like to learn by ear. If you have ever thought of singing in a choir then why not come along. We welcome all new members, whatever your voice, but especially those who sing tenor and bass parts.'

'Gives three or four full orchestral concerts each season in the Liverpool area or farther afield. It also stages smaller scale recitals and accompanies choral singing. The orchestra was founded in 1942 by a small group of like-minded amateurs and has grown over the years to a membership of about 60. Members come from a broad range of backgrounds and a relatively wide area, extending from mid Lancashire in the North to mid Cheshire in the South.'

‘A very friendly choir. Whilst we aim to produce professional standard concerts, we are an amateur choir, and have a great deal of fun and enjoyment in the rehearsals preparing for our concerts ... The Choir has established a Young Person’s Bursary Scheme, with the intention of providing young musicians with the opportunity to experience the joy of choral singing - and benefit with support for their musical studies ... In addition to the Bursary Scheme, the Committee has decided that any singer aged 16 - 24 will NOT be asked to pay any subscription … in other words young singers can be singing members of FCS for FREE!’

‘M.M.T.C. was founded on the 19th October 1972 (known then as Maghull Amateur Operatic Society). From those early days when members provided their own costumes and made the scenery, we have grown into one of the North West’s best amateur musical theatre companies. Our success is shown by our membership of over 70 people (from ages 16 to 80+), and as you can see from the number of awards we have won on our Awards Page.’

'The aim of Maghull Wind Orchestra is to provide a high quality enjoyable musical experience for all woodwind, brass and percussion musicians within the community regardless of age, ability or standard with professional level directorship and without audition or fee.'

‘Our aim is to bring the enjoyment of opera to all on Merseyside. We welcome singers, regardless of their experience, to join our company. We present staged and costumed performances sung in English at venues around the area. We also stage a range of concerts and events, as well as an annual Opera With Supper.’

'Music is at the heart of Christian worship and the musical tradition at Saint Faith`s is very strong. The church organ is one of the best in the area and we are privileged to have had some fine organists in the past and at the present time ... We have put on a series of Summer Saturday concerts at St Faith's, featuring a wide range of local soloists and ensembles. The concerts start each year on Easter Saturday and run through to August.'
