'We are not a beginners orchestra and if you are at the start of learning to play your instrument then you are likely to find the music we play too difficult for it to be enjoyable. As a rough guide you would likely be at least at Grade 5 standard to join a section and to be a confident Grade 7 – 8 player in a principal role ... While we will never be the London Symphony Orchestra, we want to continue to develop in our combined musicianship as an orchestra. Playing great music to the best of our ability and pushing forward each year ... We also want to "do our bit" in promoting classical music in Cornwall’s busy cultural landscape, providing opportunities to people young and old to hear beautiful and moving music played live.'
