‘Formed in 1992 by a group of enthusiastic players in the orchestra pit at Melton Operatic shows, and their desire to continue playing between performances ... We are a small group of both experienced and not so experienced players, currently comprising about eleven string and fourteen wind and brass players ... We are becoming more popular and are being asked to perform for a variety of events, such as fund raising for churches and charities, and performing for local events ... We aim to have fun as well as try to improve and to provide an environment in which people are encouraged to "have a go". We also socialise as a group and often have a celebratory meal after concerts!’
