'We wanted somewhere for local musicians to come and enjoy playing together, without the pressure and minimum standard often required by other amateur classical ensembles ... The main thing to say is that we are not high brow, we are inclusive and it's okay to make mistakes ... that's the way we learn. New players sometimes find themselves sitting with a novice on one side and a seasoned professional musician on the other. Everyone is friendly and encouraging and that's the way we like it.'
