+ Dalgarno Singers
Listing Details
‘A Thornhill-based choir, formed in 1974, with about 40 singers ... We sing a mixture of traditional songs (folk tunes and such as those of Burns), classical choral works (typically Haydn, Handel, Mozart, Rutter and Schubert), and show tunes (recently from Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, My Fair Lady and a Beatles Medley). A few of our members can sing the notes straight off the printed sheet, but while we value those with musical skills, the most important qualification is enthusiasm and a willingness to work on your music between rehearsals. There is no audition - if you can hear a sequence of 4 or 5 notes and then sing them back, you will almost certainly be able to enjoy developing your skill from there with the choir.’
