+ Choir 2000 Histon and Impington Community Choir
Listing Details
‘Choir 2000 is a community choir based in Histon, Cambridgeshire. Our members are drawn from many of the villages around Cambridge as well as parts of the city itself. We began life as a project for the Millennium, but everyone was having such a good time that it was decided to keep going ... As well as works of the standard choral repertoire, our performances have included rarely performed works, including the UK first performance of Hermann Suter's “Le Laudi”, the world premiere of Christopher Brown's cantata “Gloriana” (Queen's Golden Jubilee Celebrations), commissioned by Choir 2000, and “Winter”, part of the “Cantata for the Seasons”, by Stevie Wishart, jointly commissioned with the Ipswich Choral Society.’
