'Formed in 1946 as a section of the Hornchurch, Romford and Upminster Music and Arts Society, the choir became the Havering Singers in 1965 when the new London Borough was formed. The choir has grown to around 100 voices and regularly performs in local churches. The choir gives four major concerts during each season, which runs from September to July. The repertoire includes two choral concerts with orchestra and soloists, a concert of Christmas Music, and a Summer Soiree comprising a miscellany of lighter, more contemporary pieces for voices and soloists ... Havering Singers is open to all who enjoy singing, whatever their musical experience, so if you are looking for a friendly choir and the opportunity to make music, please come and make some music with us.'
