+ London Single Reeds
Listing Details
‘Formed in 2004 in response to the need for a specialist choir for the many adult clarinet and saxophone players based in North London looking for opportunities to play with other musicians. As its name suggests, most of the instruments of the single reed family are represented, from the small high E flat Clarinet to the large and low Baritone Saxophone. The Bass Saxophone and the enormous Contra Clarinets also make regular apperances with the ensemble ... The repertoire is varied and includes classical pieces, either original or arranged, as well as jazz and lighter styles of music and there is usually one concert each term.’
