+ Alyth Choral Society
Listing Details
'The Alyth Choral Society has been recognised as occupying a unique place in the UK’s vibrant choral scene. The Society was founded by Viv Bellos in 1983 and is the only UK choir to specialise in music based on the Hebrew Bible. We aim to include one major oratorio each year, but our repertoire is quite diverse. Alyth Choral Society has had many works composed for it, including the cantatas Death of Moses and Ruth by Julian Dawes, an honorary Life Friend of the Society. The Society has performed at national venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, St John’s, Smith Square, St Martin-in-the-Fields and St Paul’s Cathedral'
