‘Founded in 1900 when the Welsh National Eisteddfod was held in the city. A choir of 400 voices was formed and after such a successful event, the singers remained together forming the Liverpool Welsh Choral Union ... The choir currently numbers some 115 members. About one third of its membership is still of Welsh origin, but the choir has also attracted singers from all areas of Liverpool and Merseyside ... Performances regularly take place at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. In addition, the choir is committed to taking its special brand of music into the community of Merseyside, and working in partnership with many organisations, bringing quality choral singing to local people.’
