+ Birmingham Festival Choral Society
Listing Details
‘Originally started as the chorus for the Birmingham Triennial Music Festivals which ran from 1784 to 1912. Birmingham Festival Choral Society gives at least three main concerts per season with music ranging from the Baroque period to the 21st Century. We also give a Christmas Charity Concert. We have sung many premières over the years, from Mendelssohn's Elijah, conducted by the composer himself in 1846, to Bob Chilcott's “Circle Song” (2012) and Patrick Larley's “Birmingham Spirituals” (2014) ... We perform to a high standard while welcoming singers with different levels of experience ... Why not come along? Come for a couple of rehearsals to try us. If you decide that you would like to join, a friendly Voice Test will then be arranged. Subs are only payable after this, once you have officially joined.’
