+ Glasgow Cathedral Choral Society
Listing Details
'Founded in 1938 by Wilfred J. Emery, then Director of Music at Glasgow Cathedral, for the purpose of enriching the musical life of the Cathedral and the City by the performance of a wide variety of sacred music in the ambience for which it was originally intended: a tradition that has been maintained ever since. Although GCCS began its life as an extension of the Cathedral Choir, it is now an entirely separate organisation with its own constitution, committee and finances. We generally give three concerts each year in Glasgow Cathedral, along with performances in other venues.'
