‘Abingdon and District Music Society has been making music since 1946. We are a mixed voice choir and a full symphony orchestra. We are led by professional musicians ... The choir has about 70 singers. We don’t audition but ask you to just come along and see how you fit in. The orchestra has around 40 regular members with strong strings and wind sections. We bring in additional players where needed for concerts. Orchestral players are auditioned by a trial period in the orchestra.’
